EX VOTO Cofee Totem

An ex-voto is a votive offering to a saint or a divinity, given in fulfillment of a vow or in gratitude or devotion. In this case our EX-VOTO is a coffee totem, a tower of stackable cups turning into a votive item to the coffee ritual as a slow, mindful and conscious moment.

EX-VOTO • Coffee Cups Totem is the result of a special collaboration between Rotterdam based ceramicists and designers Giulia Cosenza and Sari Rikken. The duo decided to join forces in order to create a special product which combines Giulia’s artistic eye on everyday objects as totemic items, together with Sari’s experience in tableware and conscious living.​

Sold as a set of 4 stackable coffee cups, this totem is meant to be an art piece in your home, as well as a set of beautiful cups for your daily coffee rituals.

  • Serving your favourite coffee

    The coffee totem consist of 4 cups; 2 coned cups and 2 round cups.

    The coned cups are designed to serve Americano, Lungo or Filter coffee.

    The 2 round cups serve a perfect Cappuccino or Flat White.

    This totem is designed to be a modular, yet practical art piece. The 4 cups can be stacked in different ways which gives you the opportunity to be creative every day.

    On the bottom of each cup, we designed a detail that makes stacking more easy and safe.

  • Handmade from 30% recycled clay

    Did you know that our Totem is made from at least 30% recycled clay? The unfired clay scraps, which we call greenware is being re-used so that nothing goes to waste.

    Fun fact: the black series saves up to 50% energy thanks to single firing.
